I have the original vinyl LP of this album, and this CD is surprisingly good in comparison. Regarding the content, this is still my favorite David Gilmour solo effort among four or five he has released over the years. This was his first (1978), and contains great backing support from pre-Pink Floyd bandmates, Willie Wilson (drums) and Rick Wills (bass). In my opinion, the instrumental opener, "Mihalis" (named after David's boat), is worth the price of admission. If not, "There's No Way Out of Here" and "Short and Sweet" help seal the deal. Excellent!

one of the underrated rock albums of the 70's, Gilmour cuts loose some interesting stuff. No Way Out of Here stands as the most polished and best song of the album, but there are other good moments here. I often think what the instrumentals would have been with some Waters lyrics or more Floyd-ish sound, but the guitar here is solid, original and a must for every Gilmour fan. Easy to listen thru the whole CD also.
This particularly Reissue production of David Gilmour's solo album 'David Gilmour" has a clearly better defined/dynamic sound than my first original CD album of the artist. A total listening pleasure!
