If you are a fan of David Gilmour's and Pink Floyd do not buy this. It seems as David is getting older he is trying a new style and turning his music in to Jazz, kind of Sinatra style music. I was watching this and my daughter said what's wrong and I said this DVD is turning me against David Gilmour she said turn it off now(she knows how much I like Gilmour & Pink Floyd) and I did but I had watched almost all of it and David dropped on my list of top guitarist. I always play Pink Floyd on my guitar but I don't even want to do that any more. It starts off with just David out there by his self and man he looks rough as in fat and old and he has on that same t shirt & pants every time I see him. You dance with the one who brought you. Rock. Like Def Leppard says were not a jazz band were a rock band. Clapton tried this if you remember when he did MTV's unplugged on Layla jazzzzz style and that didn't work now he has gone back to what got him to be one of the top guitarist in the world.I just hope if Stevie Ray Vaughan were still alive he wouldn't start going jazzzzz style. I don't think so. I could just hear SRV doing Cold Shot Jazz Style. That would be kind of funny you know snapping his fingers and such. I sure miss SRV. Can't we DNA him back? Back to David. If you watch the first of this DVD you can see David's pick hand shaking I know its hard to play for people that are just staring at you when you are by yourself but he should be used to it by now. And this I couldn't believe David's guitar wasn't even ready to play he had to keep adjusting his Pod to get the right tone & this was during the opening song. It was like he went out there and tried to wing it. David sorry about the bad review I like you man but it is a bad DVD to ME. Just my opinion though. Please go back to what you know. After seeing "Remember That Night" I couldn't wait to see another live Gilmour concert, and this one did not disappoint. Don't expect an eye-popping Floyd extravaganza, though -- this one is very low key and mellow. Think of it as an "unplugged" concert: great songs and arrangements done with mostly acoustic instruments. So many artists do re-hashings of their older material and try to do them differently, just because they are sick of playing them the same old way. This show is different. These are fresh and ineresting arrangements of some classic Floyd songs -- namely "Shine on", "Comfortably Numb", "Wish you were Here", "Coming Back to Life", High Hopes", along with some old chestnuts like "fat Old Sun" and a couple of Syd Barret songs. The presence of a cello and a small choral ensemble add some unique dimensions to the work. Richard Wright makes a cameo appearance, doing a song from a recent solo work. This is a very nice song but they could have found something far more interesting to play together. Still, this is clearly a Gilmour concert, NOT Floyd. I could have done without the appearances by Robert Wyatt and Bob Geldoff, both of whom needed to hold a sheet of lyrics in front of them -- very tacky! If you are going to be honored to grace the stage with the likes of David Gilmour, at least have the respect and decency to learn the lyrics! The production values and sound quality are both very high. The intimate setting of the venue makes you feel as if you are right there in the front row. All in all this is an excellent concert and well-produced DVD, a must have for any Floyd or Gilmour fan's collection.Read full review
I can't say enough good things about this concert. I show it to everyone and they all love it too. If you like Pink Floyd with David Gilmour, then you'll love this. My favorite tracks are Coming Back To Life, Comfortably Numb with Bob Geldof, and The Dimming Of The Day (a cover but it's awesome). Unfortunately there is no companion CD that was ever released, but if you are a lil PC savvy, then you'll be able to rip the audio from the DVD, then split the songs. A couple of Google searches and you'll find the right stuff 😁. But this concert is amazing. I watched it so much that this is the 3rd copy I've purchased. I got the first 2 while still in stores. Gave one away, and the other just got worn out. Pick this up Now! You'll be happy you did

Well, almost. This is one of my absolute favorite Gilmour performances. The musicianship and quality is impeccable.

I like these bare bones revisions of old music but this one seems lacking. I mean even at the most basic level you got to shoot for something higher and this one in my opinion doesn't quite make it. I don't know if its just lacking the charisma of the original works held to close to reexamination and the problem of subjective comparison with that on my part or just the seeming to me lackluster performance by the musicians albeit technically superb. Anyway, i liked it okay is all i can say in summary.
