Although not the best Flaming Lips album, it is defiantly one of the most underrated and a must own for any Flaming Lips fan. Some songs sting with this "punk rock on acid" feel. The bands enthusiasm is spelled out in every song. Songs like "The Sun" and "Felt Good to Burn" are remencent of The Beatles's trippy experimentation. Some songs are haunting and eerily beutiful while others are energizing sing-along types. The album flows well, with enough variety to be interesting; however it is over quickly. This is one of those albums where it is best to listen to it with earphones to get the entire experience the Flaming Lips intended. Overall a fun, interesting album although brief.
First off let me say that this album is great and I really enjoy it...but I think it's a little too overrated by some Flaming Lips fans. Perhaps I expected too much when I first listened. I guess I was expecting The Satellite Heart with a Butthole Surfers punch. It's good stuff but not mind blowing like some fans claim. 4 Stars.
