Flock is a very creative/imaginative cd with beautiful music that combines jazz ,rock, blues and country with quality unheard of in todays pitiful radio friendly mixture of primitive alternative rock and hip-hop. And another bonus, these guys can really play their instruments and sing! Great late 60's progressive rock that paved the way to the music of Gentle Giant,Genesis, Coloseum or even today's Dream Theatre. This cd is very hard to find andit is a must have for anybody who likes diifferent and exciting music!
I bought Dinosaur Swamps when it was out new and I loved it. I was just getting into jazz and this album tickled my fancy. Even my ex, who comandeered all my albums, with the exception of that one which I'd lent to a freind, wondered what happened to it. You need to understand them before you can appreciate thier music and what they were trying to do. Not an easy task. But if you listen to this stuff with an open mind, truly open, you'll get them. Now I have the original and I couldn't be happier!
One of the most progressive bands of the early seventies and also one of the most overlooked. Intricate musical harmonies, big sound and a variety of instrumentation. John Mayall called the Flock the most interesting American Band in 1971. A must have for music aficionados of the 1970's.
