I first heard this album in the seventies...at a time when I was initially enchanted with a new instrument called "the synthesizer". I was listening to the German godfathers (Berlin school) T-Dream and Klaus Schulze...and other than Wendy (Walter) Carlos's "Switched on Bach", and Tomita's rehash of classic music I thought that space music was the only thing these were capable of producing. Synergy (Larry Fast) proved this idea wrong. His use of the instruments was fresh, new and timely. The title track "Synergy" introduces us to style that would serve Fast well throughout his career and indeed this single track informs us as to the future of this atrist. Although not my number one favorite album of his (see "Cords") it holds a special place in my heart as the first. Ambientartist
