Alan Price is somebody you either love, or hate!.I say this because a lot of his recordings seem like "Throwaways", and only a few gems remain. This is particually true of his most recent recordings of which "England my England" is one of his more consistent efforts. The title track is great, and apatrt from one or two tracks this is a good album. The writer would recommend that if you want to disciver Alan price try the two double cd sets "The Complete Decca recordings",and "Geordie Boy" which covers thr remainder of his career. His best albums are "Between today and yesterday", and the soundtrack to Lindsay Anderson,s film "O Lucky Man". He also has a double live album called "Performing Price" which gives a good idea how good he is in concert. Price now issues his own cd's at concerts called "AP Recordings",of which there are a couple around if you search.Read full review
