First album bought by Espers. Always loved the late 60's acid folk music & this harks back to the glory days but with a modern and fresh take - dark and enigmatic lyrics with great backing musicianship -well pleased !

Think old school folk Rock think Fairport convention with sandy Denny, Think Trees, Think Mellow candle, Spirogyra and them kinds of bands, But dont think that Espers are some 70's wannabes they approach folk Rock with a fresh set of eyes and a fresh approach, still with old school sensibilities , beautiful female vocals from Meg Baird, amazing acoustic guitar playing from Meg and Brooke Sietinsons, with the addition of subtle synthsiser and fuzz acid lead guitar from the songwriter main Greg Weeks, Espers have been labeled indy Folk(what ever that means), but really they are simply a folk rock band who write all there own material (apart from the weed tree album...but thats another story)and in my opinion they are up there with the best from the early 70's an excellent folk rock album and well recomendedRead full review
