I know that this album has been criticized by many as "too emo", and I can't deny that the evolution of AFI since their beginnings has definitely broken out of what they used to be. That said, I find Decemberuderground fresh, hauntingly beautiful and lyrically interesting. Most bands can't stray from their original course and pull it off, but AFI manages to evolve and grow, bringing new fans in while maintaining the interest of those of us who have been listening for years. This album, in my opinion, is yet another success. I can't find a song on this CD that I don't like. Sing the Sorrow was incredible, and this was a worthy follow-up. You get everything from soft and melodic tracks like Endlessly, She Said, to more vocally expressive tracks like Kill Caustic.Read full review

i have found there to be a very diverse selection of music, all within AFI's category and skill. I have loved just about everysong on the cd, versus just half of their previous works. i find some of the songs to be more punk/emo/screamo than rock but that is okay. they are good, and the rock tracks absouetly blow me away. this is like a life themesong album. davey havok is ultimately at his best on this album.
What can I say Davey Havok has the ultimate vocals! Jade can play anything on that guitar, Hunter awesome bass, and Adam great in the drum department. Every song on this cd is great not a bad one on it. I higly recommend it. Liked everything about this cd. These guys are amazing song writers. If you don't have it get it!!
