Big Big Train is characterized by extended instrumental heavy songs. Kingmaker, the first cut on my CD is very good, also The Wide Open Sea is also very good. The rest of the cuts are OK. The band plays well and is well recorded and has good vocals. They fall down in being repetitive (like the revolving wheels of a train?) therefore lacking somewhat in development and change and the lyrics are OK but don't add a lot. I bought this based on a good review in National Review Online. Yes, the classic progressive rock band, has more musical development and a different, more sprightly character and a least sometimes the lyrics add more to the mix.
