CD received in perfect condition.bought CD being Randy Newman fan.Newman playing the devil,James Taylor as the Lord.you can't go wrong.Classic Newman wit.One great voice after another(Don Henley,Linda Ronstadt,Bonnie Raitt ,Elton John).Good songs ,good stories.Very entertaining!
James Taylor, Randy Newman, Don Henley, Linda Ronstadt, and Bonnie Raitt. If I wrote my own version of Faust, this is pretty much how I would cast it. Although, I wish Newman had given Ronstadt's glorious voice more to do. There's plenty of cussing too, as one would expect from Satan.
Love Linda Ronstadt & Randy Newman's music. Particularly Gainesville. Modern take on opera. Interesting usage of lyrics in converting the old Faust into Newmanism's.
