Well I've been a long time fan of the original Spirit line-up & the first four excellent albums, but I'd never really gave any of the later Spirit material a chance. "Feedback", was the follow-up album to the fantastic "Twelve Dreams Of Dr. Sardonicus", with Ed Cassidy & John Locke attempting to continue the band without three key members who had left the group. They brought in the Staehely Brothers, from Texas, & while this album has a somewhat different feel to it than what came before, it is really surprising how well the album holds up. This is very solid stuff that just grows on you more & more with repeated listens! Songs like "Cadillac Cowboys", "Chelsea Girls", etc., are fantastic examples of early '70's rock that still sounds real good today. Any fans of Spirit or just '70's rock music, should definitely pick up "Feedback", you won't be disappointed.......Read full review
The band Spirit to me has really been about singer-songwriter, extraordinary guitarist Randy California. It is amazing to me that this band was able to put together a record this great. It rocks with a slight easy going country feel. The writing and lyrics are meaningful and timeless. The band is tight and sounds very comfortable together. This recording to me was truly one of the high points of the band. It has always been a great moment in 70s music in general. Great sound from a live studio performance. Highly recomended.
