The first Black Sheep CD, Wolf In Sheep's Clothing, is a masterpiece in early 90's hip hop. It was fun with imaginative lyrics and unique beats that was a refreshing break from all the hard core gansta rap that was going on at the time from people like Dre and Snoop. Almost 15 years later I still can listen to it in it's entirety and do so frequently. Black Sheep's follow up from 1994, Non-Fiction, is clearly a departure from the style that made Sheep's Clothing a breakthrough hip hop album. Maybe Dres and Mr. Long felt peer pressure to create a harder sound with Non-Fiction. Whatever the case, with Non-Fiction, Black Sheep lost something that made Sheep's Clothing so great. Non-Fiction is much more edgy and borderline "gansta". Non-Fiction is still better than most hip hop from the last 5 years, but it falls short when compared to their debut. Overall I don't regret buying it, just be aware that it is nothing like Sheep's Clothing.Read full review
I bought this for my boyfriend for his birthday. It was what he requested and you can't find it anywhere else. It's not really my taste in music but it was actually a pretty good CD.
