I rated this album five stars because I had the intention of buying their other album Popol Vuh 2 but couldn't find it on here so I got this one instead, recorded the next year, and it seems like this album even improves on the quality of the one with the glowing horizon on the cover; there are bands who record a really good album and then the next one stinks and this is not one of those bands. The music transcends melody in a way and is more about tone and frequency than rhythm, I actually thought there were no drums until I sat right next to the speakers and could hear there was a faint semblance of a drum track that had been muted out into a trace of itself - this is easy listening if you like abrasive music, it might take you a bit to get this music like it did me but once you appreciate it you might even come to find melody and rhythm a bit much of a tiring theme; this is to melody what that one Aphex Twin song with the proto language vocals, I think it was minipops 67, it's what that song is to singing.Read full review
