The fourth album from one of the most underrated bands of the 1970's, Modern Masquerades concludes the chapter of Belfast Prog-rockers Fruupp. Thankfully, Modern Masquerades along with their other three albums has been re-mastered and re-released. Fruupp's unique blend of progressive rock, flavoured with an almost medieval taste was, I think before its time, but no band has combined this as well since. The musicianship of the individual band members is un-questionable, and I'm convinced that like Nick Drake, who barely sold a handful of albums when he was alive, but has since achieved cult status, Fruupp's music will one day achieve the same level of reverence. If you missed them the first time round, don't make the same mistake. The band were magnificent and thankfully, their music lives on.Read full review
