I remember this band from back in the late 80s but didn't know alot about them at the time and this is a pretty decent album.

I have several Kings X albums on vinyl after having read an interview with Billy Sheehan who really rated them, he was right to do so ! When I wanted the cd versions I found them virtually untraceable , except on ebay ! The key for me about Kings X is Ty Tabor's guitar playing and his instantly recognizable tone which had many guitarists struggling to emulate it. Of all their albums Gretchen is probably the best as a good overview of what the band are about ; huge guitar sounds, an ultra tight and dynamic rhythm section, unreal vocals and harmonies, but above all else great melodies. There is a lot of talk about the band as a christian band I would say do not let this put you off as you can take what you want from the music it is great rock music full stop !
This is a very, very good high quality rock masterpiece. There. It's true too. Very stunning, no bad tracks at all, it all flows along as one great big experience. heavy, funky, catchy tunes, and so unbelievably from the late eighties. they mix together the heaviness of Sabbath and Zepplin with the great song structures of late Beatles and hints of Metallica and thrash too. Stunning band and classic amazing album. Check it be amazing.
