If your one of those fans that would like to strangle the DJ when they play the overly played Dead Man's Party, then you will probably agree that this is the real Oingo Boingo. If you were a fan prior to this album, i.e. back in the Knights days, then you will probably want me strung up along those DJ's. I'll never forget hearing Who Do You Want to be today on 98 Rock in Honolulu back when I was about 16 or 17 years old. I ran straight to Hungry Ear Records in Kailua and snatched this album up on cassette. This album really defines Boingo in my opinion. I still know all the words to all the songs and now I have an Ipod with all of it and I listen to it regularly...not as regularly as I did in the late 80's which was over and over and over again til the tape wore out, but I listen to Boingo at least every other day now.Read full review
This CD Version of this album is sounds amazing. The album was recorded in 1983, but this CD was actually made in 1987. The audio recording engineers outdid themselves with this work. Alot of older CD's don't sound too great and do not seem to be able to produce much volume. This CD is real loud and sounds awesome. I'm glad to have it in my collection.

This album is arguably Oingo Boingo at their most fun and witty, as well as their most diverse. From fast-paced, upbeat ska/punk songs that at times contain that "circus sound" that Danny Elfman does so well, to softer yet more diverse songs that explore everything from African, new wave, to possibly even darkwave sounds ("Pictures of You"). In a word, it essentially has everything that made Oingo Boingo who they were. This album is a must have for any fan.

The best Libertarian band of all time. Danny Elfman is a genius and Oingo Boingo flat out rocks on Good For Your Soul. Unlike many new wave bands, Elfman wrote songs to make fans think and hopefully inspired them pick up a book. H.G. Wells and George Orwell are just two authors referenced in the songs on this CD. A must own for all fans. 5 Stars.
So underrated, got the anthology and this one on cd, had all of them on cassette, gad, I'm old!
