Michael Card's artistry is very rich with its creativity from a musical standpoint as well as the lyrics. He has a way of taking the stories and truths of scripture and making them personal. "Joy In The Journey: Ten Years of Greatest Hits" contains some of Card's very best works. "Jubilee" is a joyful song with an African rhythmic and choir influence, while "Final Word" offers a poignant look at the Jesus, as the Living and Final Word. If you are new to Michael Card's music, this compilation would be a great start. Also, "Chorus of Faith" is a new track he wrote and recorded for this collection- and it's also a wonderful song.
Michael Card and his music was recommended to me by a friend. I am so glad I listened to her. The music is a mixture of interestingly blended music and great lyrics. I particularly loved El Shaddai, which I had had on another cd by a different artist. Loved this version, hated the previous version. I've played this at least once a week in my clock-radio cd player as a way to relax before bedtime. Great and relaxing music.
