The CD is essentially the psyche band's first and second albums, H.P. Lovecraft and H.P. Lovecraft II, plus several bonus tracks to include single edits of "The White Ship" and "Keeper of the Keys." In the late 60s, they played alongside household names such as Donovan, Janis Joplin, Procol Harum and Pink Floyd. If you're into psyche, this band should make you happy, especially with such songs as "The White Ship"; "Electrollentando"; "It's About Time"; "Spin, Spin, Spin"; "At the Mountains of Madness," "Keeper of the Keys" and so on. My favs are "I've Been Wrong Before," "The Drifter" and "That's the Bag I'm in." "Gloria Patria," a snippet, at 25 seconds or so is a bit of a waste as is "Nothing's Boy" at 40. The single cut that truly annoys is "The Time Machine" which reminds me of The New Vaudeville Band's novelty song "Winchester Cathedral" (sung, I'd guess, through a megaphone). I rather like H.P.'s version of "Let's Get Together" and "Anyway That You Want Me." No text. Decent liner notes.Read full review

This HP Lovecraft CD has all the tracks recorded by them on the Phillips label. I had both their albums when I collected 1960s garage and psych 45s and lps. I listened to them quite often. They had a unique trippy folk rock and psych sound. I feel they should have made it big. Highly recommended.

H.P. Lovecraft is one of the best, underrated psych bands of the 1960's. Highly recommend!
