This album starts off kinda weird and dark with "The mouse police never sleeps". However as is always the case with 70's Tull it's a real mix of classic, harder rock and English folk lore. This comes complete with flute, mandolin, lute etc etc.Musical talent was always Tull's strong-point. With Anderson's writing lyrics that read like classic poetry/prose, it's no wonder Heavy Horses weaves a theme or storyline. It was also the period when seeing a Tull show live was at it's very best. Overall my personal favorite from this one is "Acres Wild".
Heavy Horses is one of the top 3 or 4 albums Jethro Tull ever made. And with this remaster including 2 bonus songs it makes it even better.

EMI uses a copy protection scheme on this CD which makes it almost unplayable on some CD players and even on those that do play it without skipping it starts and ends with obnoxious sounds which are actually hidden non-music files. I had to make an ANALOG copy of this CD in order to produce a clean copy that I could play without annoying skips and noises. Sellers should clearly label such CDs as copy protected like Amazon does.
i have been looking for this title a long time. It arrived in excellent condition. The packaging was good and it arrived in a timely manner.
