I'd really never heard that much music from this band, but the one tune I had heard, struck me as something I wanted to hear more of. A little research into the band, showed a group of musicians that read like the "Who's Who" of modern fusion jazz. The connections run to Chick Corea's "Return to Forever", Mahavishnu Orchestra, and Herbie Hancock's "Headhunters". This was a fantastic opportunity to get two great albums in one box set, so I grabbed the chance. I'm not disappointed that I did. If you like fusion jazz, and like to hear well played, stylized music, give Weather Report a try.
