The Laplante Brothers (Jeff and Steve LaPlante) are musicians and songwriters just outside of Providence, RI. Over the past nine years, they have released five CDs: 2000: Under One Roof (Experimental, Futuristic, Progressive Rock) 2002: Amazing Story (Commercial, Modern, Pop Rock) 2004: Spinning Around (Progressive, Eclectic, Modern Rock) 2007: Tragic Hero (Progressive, Eclectic, Modern Rock) 2009 The Essential Collection (New Versions of Greatest Hits) This CD, "Tragic Hero" was released in 2007 and is a darker album lyrically, with elements of jazz, classical, soul, funk, and even world music blended with their staple pop/rock sound. Joining Jeff and Steve on this project are Mike Benoit on bass and Kevin Mania on drums. The CD features the single "This Time Around", which was heard on satellite radio programming in 2007 and most of 2008. It is the best selling LaPlante Brothers CD due to it's wide availability on itunes, napster, play.com, amazon.com, and other internet music services as well as right here on CDBaby.
