Though they began their career as a Led Zeppelin-influenced blues-rock band, Britain's Jethro Tull eventually embraced a courtly, near-Elizabethan sound led by the delicate flute stylings of chief songwriter, Ian Anderson. It therefore seems natural for Anderson to fully insert the "classic" into classic rock with symphonic arrangements of Jethro Tull songs performed in concert with Frankfurt, Germany's New Philharmonic Orchestra. Together, the flutist and orchestra breathe new life into the tricky time changes and long suites of Tull classics like "Calliandra Shade," "Griminelli's Lament," "Locomotive Breath," and, of course, "Aqualung."
