First let me say I am writing this BEFORE the CD has arrived so what I say I say from personal experience. This will be my replacement CD of this artist. Now, why you may ask is it a replacement? The answer is simply. I have played the first one so much that is covered in scratches, and skips frequently ruining the experience this music provides me. This CD does have two downsides though: 1. If you are not familiar with the style of it, it will likely come across as non-stop elevator music, but however if you like the first track "Montezuma" then odds are good you will like the whole CD as all of the songs have about the same instrument choices. 2. This is mood music, and the "mood" changes some between tracks which can be distracting if you go from say "Montezuma" to "Quetzal's Feather". It is however very good music all, and I have found superior to quite a lot of other stuff I've listened to for relaxation purposes. So Enjoy.Read full review
The first thing I noticed when I bought this cd, was the haunting sounds of this German band, I had never heard of Cusco or of there sound, which was truely beautiful, from the first song Montezuma to the Temple of rememberance, I could not just walk away from the stereo the sound was just pulling me towards it, A peace of mind and tranquility just came into my mind and body. The music is beyond anything I had expected and I wanted more, so I ended up buying there 1st album Apurimac and I loved it even more, I can say I am a collector of music of every type or style, I have not gone but a couple of days at a time without listening to the cd, there is not one song that I do not like on either of the two albums I now own, and I plan to try to see if I can find some more albums on ebay, The music is a mayan theme style of many different types of flutes and keyboards, guitar, and drums, there is just a magic in there sound that makes you feel like you are traveling in the back jungles searching for the lost cities of the mayan's and discovering that they are still there at one of their temples, I would highly recommend the first 2 albums to any music collectorRead full review
