I'm born in 1979 and I grew up with these songs, it's a part of my childhood. This is the main reason... and of course because I love these seven songs written and played by the leader of Supertramp! Many people may hear it like something "has been" or "old-fashioned" and it is!!! released in 1984! Listen to the album before you buy it, it's special... Cedric.
Roger Hodgson's first solo piece of work after departing Supertramp. I recall buying this while in high school umpteen years ago, in its original release, around 1986 or so....and playing the cassette til the tape was thin. A classic filled with incredibly intricate songs, melodies and themes. If you like Supertramp.....this is a must for you!
I remember this album came out about the same time as Supertramp's "Brother Where You Bound," which I picked up first. I thought the Supertramp album lacked depth and fullness and was wondering where those qualities had gone, as they had been evident in previous Supertramp releases. Upon hearing Roger Hodgson's first solo album, I had my answer. This is what a Supertramp album should sound like. Although the songs are few on this album, they are long, and powerful. If you loved Supertramp (pre-"Brother"), you will love this cd.
Great CD - I recently heard about this and had to get it since I am a huge Supertramp fan. Have only listened to this three times and it's growing on me. Rogers voice is impeccable and his piano playing has never sounded better. The last track is by far one of his finest works ever. Very glad I purchased this.
Great cd
