With a sound as seemingly non sequitur, ever so ominous, also stupid (but in a good way) as their name, Iwrestledabearonce create a mind-bogglingly manic alt-rock pastiche with their debut full-length. Ostensibly a metalcore band, IWABO throw everything and the kitchen sink (and don't be suprised if there literally is a kitchen sink being played at some point) into their sound, rapidly shifting from blistering hardcore to dance pop to--sure, why not--adult contemporary singer-songwriter moves in the course of a single song. It's tough to say if IT'S ALL HAPPENING is the future of music, but one thing is for certain, it is most certainly the present (as of 2009) in all it's ugly, glittering glory.
