Sting, Geddy, Clarke and so many others will testify that Jaco reinvented what was possible on a Fender Precision. Maybe not as well recognised was his skill in composition. Did he have trouble working with other musicians ...?? You bet, but with super ego, that is expected. His time spent with Weather Report was an inspiration to bassists worldwide. When he got together with Joni Mitchell, they accomplished things that can never be duplicated. His solo work stretched from the quiet beautiful emotional pieces to borders of insanity.
