its a milestone in jazz fusion history. It should be in every colection. its got it all, driving pumping numbers like 'birdland and rumba mama' and slow powerful tunes 'a remark you made ' this album put weather report on the map. the original recording is from the 70's so is not the usual contemporary studio clarity, but is fine album all the same.
I already had this album on vinyl but I wanted a CD for the car and to rip to my PC. The tracks are still as fresh as when I first came across them as a teenager, but now my own teenage sons have been able to appreciate them as well. Jaco Pastorius was a genius on the Bass, and Wayne Shorter later went on to The Crusaders. Just chilled Seventies Jazz that takes me back to my childhood.
This took me right back to when I saw this band live. Wonderful playing from all of them and Jaco is always present, driving everything with his amazingly inventive bass playing. The more often you listen to this the more you start to hear, and you can't say that very often!
