this cd has some very good performances by jimi Hendrix. you don't see this cd out there much and you have to be looking for it. I had it a long time ago. I remembered the blistering blues he played and are you experienced is great also. not much bad about this cd. his improvisation was in great form on this one. this one would be excellent remastered with slight remix but from what I read that will never happen with this cd. sounds pretty good in present state though, especially with a little volume. only thing I didn't like so much was voodoo chile version. but I am just used to hearing other versions and this one is very good too. ive heard things I didn't like too much by him like wild blue angel live at the isle of wite. I just didn't like that much. sound wasn't that good to me and the songs didn't sound good. but concerts is opposite that. sound is good his playing is great and its a must buy. highly recommended.Read full review

Way back in the day I used to have The Jimi Hendrix Concerts in cassette tape. I particularly liked the song Stone Free a lot. The song is way different than the studio counterpart. The live version has an extended guitar solo that includes some Flamenco-sounding playing and a bit of a drum solo. I was mesmerized by this version and listened to it all the time. There have been numerous live Hendrix CD's released in recent years (many of them have songs from this compilation - this is a collection of live recordings rather than a full concert), some of them really good, but this one stands at the top. Is it the best Hendrix live CD out there? I don't know, but it's definitely in the top 5 in my opinion. All the songs in this compilation are winners. I wish a song like Purple Haze had made it in, but the CD release is over 77 minutes long if I'm not mistaken. That's pretty good value for your buck I think. The CD version has one more song than the vinyl version, so that's another reason to get this one. This CD has been deleted from Hendrix's catalog and has been out of print for a few years. If you're a Hendrix fan, then I think it's worth the effort to get this CD. As far as I know, both the Reprise version and the Castle version sound the same, so you can get either one.Read full review
You can't go wrong with this CD. From the amazing Mitch Mitchell extended drum lead-in on "I Don't Live Today" to the psychedelicized version of Little Wing to a great "Hey Joe" and "Hear My Train a-Coming," and of course, the inimitable "Are You Experienced," this is an essential addition to any Hendrix fan's collection.

This is a fantastic CD I bought the LP when it first came out. It is more than a piece of history its probably the coolest sounding Live CD of Jimi there is, taking all the best from live tapes that were made from the time! They are reissueing all the Jimi Hendrix and I recomend the new stuff over the old but this needs to be in your collection as well. This will not be re issued as Alan Douglas produced it and him and the family had a falling out.
All of this is magical! The sound quality is great, and it seems Hendrix is in a natural flow. If you don't know Blues, Bleeding Heart will transform you.
