We have the 'Jonathan Livingston Seagull' movie and I wanted to be able to hear the music at any time. In my opinion, this music is the epitome of Neil Diamond's gift as a song writer and composer; he really captured the essence of the theme in a truly poetic way. I think that even if you haven't seen the film, you could appreciate and be 'lifted' by this CD. You might find it repetitive, and I would have loved more of this calibre on the soundtrack, but what Neil wrote is so inspiring that it surpasses the repeating - it can really 'carry' you to new 'heights'.
I have always been a fan of Neil Diamond music and much of my music is on LP's. I was recently given a portable CD player, welcome to the new millenium, and was trying to update my music library. Many of the albums were easy to find. JLS, however, was giving me a difficult time finding it. The movie has such meaning to me and the music is one of the most heartfelt, passionate soundtracks to come along. If you are driven by emotion and enjoy the the feeling of being this is wonderful to experience.

I have always had a copy of this soundtrack on tape since the time this music was written and placed on the market. I was happy to locate a new CD copy so I could continue to enjoy this beautiful music. I also have the VCR movie and the narration by Richard Harris on tape of Jonathan Livingston Seagull. The music is soothing and many times when babysitting this music would allow babies and young children to drift off to sleep easily. It is excellent background music for any occasion.
The music is as lovely as I remember it! If you love Neil Diamond, you'll appreciate this little gem too!
