There's no shortage of Byrds compilations out there, and depending on your mood and the needs of the moment, there's a greatest hits or best-of for just about every occasion. Nothing (not even the expanded CD edition of said album) has ever beaten the sustained yet succinct AM radio punch of the original 12-song "Greatest Hits" from the 1960s, but this two-CD set covers a lot of the important bases scattered among the group's hit singles, album cuts, superb non-hit singles (i.e. "Lady Friend"), and B-sides, plus some of the best work from the group's declining commercial years (post-1967).
To my surprise, these guys are prolific! It's too bad their songs are sold as best of, etc. when I'd love to have their individual opuses. In any case, great music! Glad I ordered this one.
