I have enjoyed Spirit for many years now. I want to add that I like Spirit but they are not anywhere close to my favorite band. The songs were a nice selection of tunes that did not all sound the same or have the same tempo. The band seemed tight and not trying anything they were not capable of doing. I have always had one criticism of Spirit; I would have liked the group to have used Randy California more because he was a great guitar player and I would have liked heard more of him. But since California died in1997 his recordings are all we have to listen to. A nice album (CD) from a era time that most will enjoy but not claim to be the best album they have ever heard. If you want to hear more Randy California get Kaptain Kopter and the Twirly Birds.
I absolutely love this recording of such a strong and talented group of it's generation. Producing one great riff after another, Jay Ferguson shows his true colors as a gifted singer/songwriter. With an included collaboration, of course, of the late Randy California and his step-father and influence, Ed Cassidy, makes the album a legendary piece of work for all hears to here. Songs like the hit I Got A Line On You and It's All The Same, this is a prime example of what prior musical experience and fresh talent has to offer. Overall, it was a great record for the price. I'm glad it is still available for public listening. I know I can't stop spinning it!!
Spirit was an awesome studio and live band. This is 'must-have' recording of Spirit. It also has some unreleasd recordings. Great.
