'Blood gives us life. It's something we all have in common. So often now we also have the spilling of blood in common. Friends or family gone in the blink of an eye. This music offers us the hope that this violence can be stopped. That hope springs from the beauty of the beats, words, and sounds. That hope springs from the wisdom that violence isn't human nature, violence is imposed upon us by outside forces of wealth and power. When so many artists come together to express beauty, hope, and wisdom, that gives us confidence. Confidence that we can overcome those outside forces, that we can defeat the true enemies who compel us to spill the blood that gives us life.'
