Way ahead of her time. A must have for the Laurie Anderson collector. Laurie Anderson is the premier performance artist and avant guard expressionist of all time. Here on "Life on a String" Laurie gives the most vocal performance to date. Something that takes a few listens and then is loved like a childhood fairy tale. Very well written and beautifully done graphics. Once again Laurie tells the stories that provoke a deeper world hidden within the everyday. She spins a web that the trained listener will undoubtably fall pray to. Efforts from Lou Reed and other established musicians give this album a more polished musical effect. If you are a Laurie Anderson fan you must have this. If you are an outsider, you may want to check her out on YouTube first and see what her performance art and story telling is all about.
