The Door's final tour with rock icon Jim Morrison as lead vocalist kicked off April 10, 1970 with a gig at the long-gone Boston Arena featuring an early show and a late show, both presented here. Their first performance since the bands '69 tour was cut short after a controversial onstage incident involving Morrison that nearly spelled the end of The Doors, it was a raucous evening that did not disappoint fans clamoring for more. Captivating the beginning of an era's end, this three disc set presents the Lizard King leading fellow Doors Ray Manzarek, John Densmore and Robby Krieger - all at the peak of their powers - on an epic and incendiary booze-fueled musical journey through their biggest hits, greatest tracks, inspired covers and assorted spoken word gems. All but two tracks are previously unreleased and were recorded by the Door's engineer Bruce Botnick on multi-track tapes. Among several shows from the 70 tour recorded for what would become ABSOLUTELY LIVE, this now legendary date is available for the first time ever from Rhino and Bright Midnight.

The Doors live in Boston
A nice 3 cd set, but Mr. Mojo was drunk for the 2nd show. This album just confirms his erratic behavior before leaving the Doors. I am a Doors fan and appreciate the opportunity to hear the group. With that said the Hollywood Bowl of 68 is clearly better even though Jim was on LSD. He put on a good clear voice performance. If you can find this album under $15 it is a great deal.

Good cd.Jim is Trashed singin' not great but he's funny
The cd is good live Doors. The Music itself is outstanding Live Music, but only one thing wrong...Jim....He's Trashed and singing the parts in different keys, although funny at times with his drunken screams and pitter patter. I didn't like it much at first but it really grows on you. Not Jim's best Live performance, so if you're just looking for one live Doors album I'd try another one. But all in all it is pretty Great I must say. Most of us have been there once before!!!!

It's The DOORS. LIVE! but....
The first show (CD#1) is a bit weak becasue Mr. Morrison does souns as if he is QUITE intoxicated. There are still some stellar moments even so. It appears he managed to sober up a bit for the second show because, in my opinion, CD#2 and CD#3 contain much better performances. The overall sound quality (probably due to the quality of the original recordings and problems with the sound system in the arena) is good but not great. Overall this is a very nice CD set and gives a good representation of what the Doors were capable of in a live performance.

Nice Release But Wait Theres Been A Slaughter Here
What I am really saying is that The Doors were a great band but when Jim was "F"ed up it kind of ruins the show. Then again, he'll come out of it on other songs & sing brilliant. I think if your a collector like myself, you'll like it for what it was, two complete shows in one package.
