This group rocks! I play keyboards... and this group is a most excellent band of musicians! I've been to a number of their concerts over the years... and this blu-ray disc is like being up close and personal! Ian Anderson is an excellent song writer. His lyrics often go deep into realms of keen insight and profound perception. This is no mere "I love you/you love me" garbage! With "Living in the Past", for example, most people do not understand the importance of going beyond old (i.e., past) values, traditions, and habits of thought; instead they remain in old, worn-out images (that are not truly alive at all). This group has innovative music (often played on instruments thought to be inappropriate for a good modern day rock group); what they play changes creatively over time. Despite the march of time, Jethro Tull still has the ability to entertain with much of the old panache. Maybe not quite as frantic of antic or as high in the upper register, but still every bit as enjoyable as their original concerts from the early 70's. Maybe it's nostalgia, but not all that much. They still have it. The BluRay version is sharper than the standard DVD, but since it most probably was filmed in hi-def to begin with, both are quite well presented. Either way, you won't miss anything. Been a fan since the beginning and always look forward to new releases, whether old or new concerts, it's all good!
I've been a fan since High School back in 1968 I heard the song Nothing is Easy. Needless to say I bought this DVD & he's better live I feel than on the albums. This is the Best Concert you will ever see or up there w/the best NcCartney or Tina Turner. You will have front row seats. Also this DVD in Blu Ray is DTS & that's the first time I've heard a true DTS recording. Unbelievable to my hears. I'm a Drummer & song writer I'll tell you every song on this DVD is A+++++! You must have this even if you have never heard of Jethro Tull for the young kids. Wow what a flute Player. Buy it, if you don't like it I 'll pay for it. Dan Ross Tx www.dannypross.com
