YES is my all time favorite rock band, so this will probably seem biased but this like the companion DVD, is a great example as to why bands that have been around a long time should not quit because someone thinks they're too old. YES set the bar so high from the start that bands that may have come somewhat close in the past have fallen by the wayside. As exellent as this performance is the only other one besides Yessongs that could challenge it would be if they did a CD of the DVD "Songs from Tsongas" from their 35th anniversary tour in 2004.
I have been a big fan of Yes from the beginning.I own most everything they have ever put out. I love live performances most which is why I decided to buy this double CD. After listening to it twice to make sure I wasn't imagining what I heard, I was Very disappointed. This has to be one of the most boring performances I have ever heard Yes do. Needless to say I will be careful about anything yes puts out in the future.
Like the seventies, Yes in Montreux (2003) is one of the best live albums that I´ve hear. Great songs and great interpretations. Old songs + new songs; musicians in a high peak. Is very hard say words that describe this amazing album. Very low price for very high quality. If you´re a lover of real progressive and symphonic rock, don´t wait more: you must buy this album NOW!!!!
