This is a GREAT piece work by the Doors, who are at the peak of their powers and in Europe as it shows. The voice over and storytelling by Grace Slick and Paul Kanter of Jefferson Airplane go along smoothly and help to paint a picture of the time period, and tour that the bands did together. Personally, I really enjoyed the dvd, and see no reason why any fan wouldn't either. The band is tight, as is the music, the extended version of "Light my Fire", with poems by J.M. are very good, and are interwoven very well. The version of "When the Musics' Over" is among the best ever recorded, especially to video. It makes a great addition to any diehard Doors fans' collection.
HA, HA!!! I just love the DOORS!!! THX

I have always been a huge Doors fan. I was in middle school in 68 and of course never really saw any of the Doors concerts. I enjoyed the commentary by Grace Slick and Paul Kantner,it gave me an understanding of what went down with the group and Morrison at that time. Thoroughly enjoyed the performances, passion and poetry of Morrison. He was truly ahead of his time. I can only imagine how far these talents could have gone. The only sadness is Morrison was taken much too soon.
Great DVD and a great deal This was a great deal and a dvd that I somehow missed years ago. The talking part of the dvd did not interrupt with the music content which is a big plus for me. I remember watching many shows with past mucisians that the music was always interrupted by talking. This in my opinion sucks and is not enjoyable to watch, more annoying than anything. if there are any other dvd out there like this one i would like to here about them.
Took me way back. Light my Fire came out the year I started college. Some good commentary at the beginning and end by Grace Slick and Paul Kantner from the Airplane. Just enough to give some perspective about Morrison and the rest of the band, especially Manzarek who I always thought never got the recognition he deserved. The rest is great performances of their songs that I thought did a pretty good job of capturing the essence of the band. Worth a look and listen.
