Having been a follow of Ronnie James Dio since the early 60's and seeing him grow to this level was truely great. I also consider myself Richie Blackmore's #1 fan and have been to and seen every tour with every version of Rainbow. The RJD years being my favorite not just because of Ronnie but because of the type of music they were doing. This is an absoulute must have for any Dio or Rainbow fan. The price was very reasonable but I personally would have paid anything for this. Like I said, I am a true Blackmnore die hard fan. I wish there were more "real" DVD's available in the DIO era of Rainbow. It's unbelievable how good the sound and picture quality is for a 1977 filming and recording. I was really amazed and excited. At full volumn on my stereo and 50" plasma with the lights off, it was like being transformed right back to '77. My teenage daughters didn't think their Dad had it in him. I was magically transformed back to my 20's, if not but for just 90 minutes.Read full review
Not only was this the most talented of the Rainbow lineups, but this particular concert really shows them at their peak musically. As well, you can tell they are really enjoying themselves on stage. Dio's voice is captivating as always. Blackmore's solos are masterpieces in their own right. Cozy Powell is dominating on drums. My favorite songs from this concert are Sixteenth Century Greensleeves and Catch the Rainbow. This DVD was worth every penny.

What to say...excellent show. Dio in his absolute prime puts forth a very commanding performance as do all the musicians. Blackmore is as expected....fluid and brilliant. I really enjoyed the DVD extras and interviews on this one...they really helped define the era surrounding the performance as well as the lead up to the bands formation. Highly recommended for Rainbow fans as well as Dio fans.
