This was the Moody Blues first live performance release in about 5 years! IT also marked the end of an era with the retirement of Ray Thomas one of the band long time members! Alot of doubt went into the fans of the band whether the Moody Blues could still perform as the Moody Blues. Well this 2005 concert proves the band still has that Moodies magic! Adding new session players and a remarkable new session player to fill Ray Thomas' place is the very beautiful and talented Norda Mullen. The Moody Blues have also added some new items to their shows. A big screen monitor that plays videos and flashback photos of the band's history. The music format has changed too. Songs like STEPPING IN A SLIDE ZONE and DECEMBER SNOW (from the 2003 Moody Blues Christmas album DECEMBER) so a little change in the show makes for an entertaining event. The Moody Blues are now in the planning sessions for their 2007 American tour that will be celebrating the bands 40th year in performing, the 40th anniversary for DAYS OF FUTURE PAST and their all time most memorable song NIGHTS IN WHITE SATIN. SO THE time will one day come when the Moody Blues may call it a musical career in very short period of time. But after hearing the performance on this fantastic cd, they still sound as fantastic as they ever have.Read full review
