The CD Made in Heaven by Queen is arguably the very best CD of a very good band, the last album produced by the incredible rock tenor Freddy Mercury before his death from AIDS. Though the music is far slower than Queen's more famous hits such as Bohemian Rhapsody or We Will Rock You, it is just as intense. It has a deep and refreshing sorrow to it, clearly written by a man dying. Although much of the music is somewhat sorrowful, it is also upbeat. There is an insight and intensity, apparent in much of Queen's other music, however far clearer and more accessable in this last CD. My favorite songs on this album are the third and eighth track of the eleven, Let Me Live and Too Much Love Will Kill You. Queen has always had a good solid, classic rock sound, but the real treat in this album is the lyrics, deep, moving and specific. Like this line from Let Me Live: Why don't you take another little piece of my life, why don't you twist it and turn it, and cut it like a knife. I would recommend this CD not only to hardcore fans of Queen, but also to anyone in a contemplative mood, or anyone deeply depressed, since it would speak to their pain, while at the same time giving some lift, and helping to drag them out of dispair. This is actually the third time I have bought this album, once upgrading from cassette tape to CD, and once my CD was stolen out of my car.Read full review
Even though I was a big Queen fan, I didn't want to buy this CD when it first came out because I thought it would be random outtakes and half-finished songs...I didn't want to remember Queen with Freddy Mercury that way. I bought a copy of a cassette tape from a thrift store on a whim. I loved it! So, I bought a CD copy off of Ebay. I cannot believe the quality and meaningful lyrics of this CD. Mercury's voice is fantastic! You would never believe he was dying when this CD was made. He always added a new dimension to just average songs that made them great. He does it here. What a fitting last album for Queen. Alot of the songs are like a final testament to Freddy Mercury...if you read inbetween the lines. I highly reccomend this CD.
This album is a bittersweet triumph. The arrangements are beautifully constructed and coated perfectly with Mercury's voice. It is a great way to end a career with Freddie's God-Given talents on a musical high, but an unfortunate mortal ending. From the first track to the last one listed on this album, you will be taken to a wonderful place where only Queen can take you musically. I have enjoyed this album since its release, and urge you to also. Any true Queen fan can appreciate the genius completion of these recordings. You will not be disappointed.
This is the final album Freddie Mercury recorded. A lot of the song lyrics on this album seem to be about the illness that would take his life. Great album, great songs.

New recording. Only the jewel case had a crack, but it did not affect the CD.
