I bought this album because I read in Rolling Stone magazine that a pannelist of judges had deemed Aretha Franklin to be the best singer of all time for the general Rock and Roll genre. I realized I didn't have any of her CDs, so I decided I should get one. I read a review from someone saying that if you were going to have only one of her CDs, or if you were just starting out collecting her music then this was the CD you should get. So, I bought it and I am glad I did. I really haven't been able to listen to it much though so far, but it seems like the kind of CD that grows on you, and in general, gets better with time.
Rolling Stone magazine top 500 album one of two albums on the list. A classic.

I think this is an excellent "CD" to have in your collection, if you like her style you will love her collection of songs. The beauty of having this "CD" is you will always have her around to listen to.
