If it had just been released as Echoes, it would have still been a brilliant album. Echoes was the true zenith of Pink Floyd's exploration into the limits of how imaginative music can be and still be relegated as "a song". Meddle as a whole is Pink Floyd's first GREAT album. They really developed the sense of flow that a great album has in this offering. Meddle is the whetstone Dark Side of the Moon forged its brilliant sharpness upon. Gilmour and Wright's vocal harmony at its best in Echoes. Creative, yet very laid back and listenable. "Fearless" is perhaps the most underappreciated song of their career together.

This is the sixth pressing I have owned of this disc. The first two were on LP, the original stock version and a Japanese virgin vinyl pressing. In CD form, I had the original, Shine On, Japanese OBI and now the latest pressing that you see here. This is by far the best sounding version of the disc I have listened to. I wonder though what this disc would sound like if they would have spent a few more pennies and used the SHM formatting and materials. I own some SHM remasters from the era and they are amazing. That said this is a great sounding CD.
My husbanfd has asked for this CD for years he loves it.

For me "Echoes" is one of the best Pink Floyd songs (20-something minutes!)). There is also "One of These Days". The rest of the songs are not memorable but just for those 2 songs is definitely worth getting this album!
