Apparently no one bothers to read these reviews, but what the heck? I had bought this originally from the used CD bin at my local store (Record Collector, see their store on the Ebay site). It was so damned good that I bought this from an Ebay seller because it has 5 additional cuts not on the orginal CD I have. The first two extra cuts are forgetable, but the final three are very good. Over all this is the finest Robert Plant CD I have found since he went solo. The others I've sampled range from okay to good, but this is truly amazing. Four cuts sound very Led Zeppy, and I do not find a single weak tune in the 12 cuts of the standard CD. If you like Led Zep and if you like Robert Plant you owe it to yourself to buy this CD. This completely overwhelms the likes of his latest releases with Allison Kraus and Nancy Griffin.Read full review
This disc shows that Plant still has that old charm. I'm collecting what I think is some of the best work by the most classic artists of our time. The tracks on this disc takes me back to some of the best from Led Zeplin. Why did I buy it? Why not? Plant has come full circle with his work with Allison Krause which is unbelievable. Plant still has one of the best voices in the industry. I think the best that could have happened to Plant was the splitup of Zeplin. Their music was going nowhere. They were struggling with the identity that they created with their success and as that started to decline it got worse. When Plant moved out on his own, a new fire could be felt in his songs. Even though Jimmy Page had alot to do with Plants solo success you could sense that Plant was in control. He was back. Does he lean towards his LZ roots? Of course he does, wouldn't you if you were part of a legend that helped create the backbone of todays music. That's why I love this disc. But I don't mean that Plantr is trying to recapture the good old days. He's progressed somuch farther from the point when he started his solo career. He just gets better.Read full review
