Amebix are a music band formed in Devon, United Kingdom in 1978. Their music blended anarcho-punk and heavy metal, crust/hardcore; better and more informations could be find on wiki and on their official web site. Anyway, "Monolith is the title of Amebix's last studio album, released in 1987. Reissued in 2008 as a sliding scale download by Moshpit Tragedy Records" I bought this album cheap here in ebay from a UK seller, brand new. My friend was very happy to receive it for Christmas; I like this kind of music even if I don't listen to everyday. Tukashnikov
You probably wouldn't be reading this review if you didn't know who the Amebix were. I used to see them in Bath in the late 80's, around the time they were gigging Arise and some of the tracks on Monolith. I remember having a couple of bootleg tapes of them playing almost all songs from both those albums before Monollith was released. I hadn't played my vinyl copy for at least 10 years, so was pleased to pick up a copy of the CD. It's as awesome now as it was when I first heard it. I hear that they have reformed and are gigging again in Europe in Spring 2009. There's a few songs on youtube from a California show in January 2009 which sound great. Can't wait to see them again.
