Not Richard's best album by far. At first I was optimistic, after his best to date, "Slow New York", seeing that "Sunday Morning" was produced by Mitchell Froom. But the songs just aren't up to scratch, and the arrangements are lazy. It's easy to determine that being signed to Manhattan, a subdivision of Blue Note, has affected the way this artist is being presented, right down to the insincere, forced smile of the photographs, where Richard eschews his glasses in order to appear younger and more attractive. I'm waiting for the follow-up album already!
