Well I'm biased....I think Muse are anywhere from amazing to very very good, ! So with that in mind I feel that this album is a very fine slice of Muse in typically turbulent form. One minute it's high impact Led Zep style rock, but then you've got Matt Bellamy's vocals which really redefine the whole creative direction, inlaying with amazing tenderness one minute, fury the next, in whatever incredible direction he fancies at the time. Not to forget some astonishing guitar, superlative drums, agonisingly beautiful symphonic classical influences all set against a nihilistic, explosive and apocalyptic vision.....I mean, yes, it's Gorgeous!! I have to write a review of this album purely and simply because as ever, muse totally blow me away. This band can not fail in my eyes and produce some of the strongest musical sounds i've ever heard. It's like listening to classical, rock, funk and psychedelia all in one great package! The fact that this band consists of only three men (exceptionally talented at that) makes the sounds they produce even more dramatic. What a lot of volume for such a small group of people! Matt's haunting vocals, almost operatic at times along with the Hendrix style mayhem he lovingly produces from a guitar, compliments the bass funky madness from Dom and the drums Chris produces that should never fit with anything but just do!!! Total assault on the senses, long may they reign!
this cd is the 1st and best muse cd out their i recommend it to anyone especially track 1&2 sunburn and muscle museum
