I came across Nicholas Chapel's music a few months ago on Last Fm. I find his lyrics to be thought provoking and the sound is just amazing. Black Over Gold is a beautiful song that conjures up echoes of the power ballads of the 80's. Perhaps my favorite song on the album is "Swing of the Airwaves" This song compellingly illustrates the theme of the individual trying to make emotional connections in a cold, cruel world. Both Building an Empire and Mute were recorded by Mr. Chapel at his home. He played all of the instruments, engineered and produced the albums and even did the cover art! His music has received critical acclaim from critics and fellow musicians such as Porcupine Tree's Steve Wilson. Why don't you give it a try.
