Fourteen track audio document of Nik Turner's 1995 U.S. summer tour. Saw one gig on this most memorable trek. Sound quality couldn't be better. Amazed to see that Nik was playing four songs off of Hawkwind's landmark 1975 'Warrior On The Edge Of Time' - which are the title track (with poet Michael Moorecock as guest vocalist), the galactic "Spiral Galaxy" (with Simon House), "Dying Seas" and the tripping "Opa-Loka 2000". Of course some old Hawkwind gems pop up - like the recital "Ten Seconds Of Forever", "Ejection", "Silver Machine" and the (always, great to hear) "You Shouldn't Do That". An absolute M-U-S-T have.
I thought I would buy this CD after enjoying the excellent "Otherworld" by Space Ritual. The band consists of nine musicians who give a mighty full sound, including Spiral Realms ( Simon House, Del Dettmar,& Len Del Rio )and Alan Powell who drummed with Hawkwind too, good style. The guitarist I`ve not heard of before, but plays admirably. On other Nik Turner live albums I`ve been disappointed with sound quality, not so with this one.If you love great space music get this, even if you do have to send to the States for it.
