ISIS is a spectacular band, and an interesting new dimension is added to their sound when the songs are remixed and reinterpreted. Interestingly enough, I heard this album before the original Oceanic release, and was very impressed. Tim Heckler's versions of Carry, Fennesz's "Weight," "Beginning and the End" by Venetian Snares and, most especially, JK Broadrick's "Hym" are amazingly dynamic songs. If you can listen with open ears and an open mind, as a previous reviewer said, it will be worth your money and time.
This is a great cd. I will put it in and let it play all the way thru over and over. It's good for all kinds of moods. Reminds me of Pelican or Mogwai. Both of those are great bands to check out too.
