Shadowfax has always dazzled with it's unique instrumentation and melting pot of sound. They're known for their fling back to the more melodic days of music, even medieval troubadours would have made. We see them hold true with their usual prowess, but turn up the power on this album. "Oasis" is one of my favoirite songs I have ever heard. It's fierce building to an explosive release, trigger in the listener the same energetic euphoria so often associated with a rousing prog. rock anthem. The energy that is unique to Shadowfax carries through on the hanuting "A Pause in the Rain" and the dramatic and aggressive "Her Dress Hangs There". And my other favorite, " Changing of the Guard". A seeming reflection of a time filled with magic and Renaisance like wonder; leaving you with a sense of nostalgia rarely seen in much of music. This truly is an excellent album. Whether this be your first introduction to this group as it was for me, or a well acquainted fan seeking to build your collection, I would be sure to add this to your purchase list.Read full review
I bought this to replace the missing one from my carousel I had listened to for years. Lent it out and it must have only had a one way ticket. I never seem to get tired of hearing it. Uniquely textured, very melodic and one of those CDs that creates an atmosphere like a restaurant you always enjoy visiting. Clean but not overly produced.
Great Shadowfax release for your collection
